1. Purpose & Commitment

Our goal is to ensure a safe, hazard-free environment while delivering quality cleaning services. We adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (NZ) and all relevant industry regulations.
2. Responsibilities
2.1 Management Responsibilities
Just Cleanz will:
โ Provide and maintain safe equipment, tools, and cleaning products.
โ Ensure employees receive proper health and safety training.
โ Identify and minimise hazards and risks in all work environments.
โ Maintain full compliance with New Zealand health and safety laws.
โ Investigate incidents and take action to prevent future occurrences.
2.2 Employee Responsibilities
All Just Cleanz employees must:
โ Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
โ Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and non-slip footwear.
โ Report any hazards, incidents, or injuries to management immediately.
โ Maintain proper handling, storage, and use of chemicals.
โ Ensure correct lifting techniques to prevent injury.
โ Never work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
2.3 Client Responsibilities
To ensure a safe cleaning service, clients must:
โ Provide safe and accessible premises for cleaning staff.
โ Inform Just Cleanz of any potential hazards or safety risks (e.g., broken flooring, unstable furniture, hazardous materials).
โ Keep pets and children away from cleaning areas for safety.
3. Hazard Identification & Risk Management
We conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards such as:
๐ข Chemical Hazards โ Safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals.
๐ข Slip, Trip & Fall Hazards โ Use of warning signs, slip-resistant footwear, and safe work practices.
๐ข Manual Handling Risks โ Proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
๐ข Electrical Safety โ Checking for faulty equipment and avoiding water near electrical outlets.
๐ข Infectious Disease Prevention โ Proper sanitation, hand hygiene, and PPE use.
4. Emergency Procedures
In the event of an accident, fire, or other emergency, Just Cleanz staff will:
๐จ Follow emergency exit procedures and assembly points.
๐จ Report injuries or near-miss incidents immediately.
๐จ Use first aid kits provided in all service vehicles.
๐จ Contact emergency services (111) if necessary.
5. Safe Use of Cleaning Products & Equipment
โ Only eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning products are used where possible.
โ All cleaning chemicals are labelled correctly and stored safely.
โ Staff are trained in the correct use of equipment, including vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, and floor polishers.
6. COVID-19 & Infection Control Measures
Just Cleanz follows strict sanitisation protocols to prevent the spread of infections, including:

7. Incident Reporting & Investigation
- All workplace injuries, near-misses, or safety concerns must be reported immediately.
- Just Cleanz will investigate incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Any workplace injury requiring medical attention will be documented in our Health & Safety Register.
8. Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- We regularly review and update our Health & Safety Policy to align with industry best practices.
- Employees receive ongoing training in health and safety procedures.
- We encourage an open and proactive safety culture, where all staff and clients can raise safety concerns.
